It wasn't so much the "irresponsibility" of it that I was commenting on, but
just simply the wasted experience.
Technically, the "purpose" of sex is procreation, and likewise it can be
argued that the purpose of drinking alcoholic beverages is to get drunk.
However, if you simply engage in either of these practices simply in order to
get to this technical "end-result", then you are missing out on the wonders of
the experience.
It's not the destination, its the journey. And just as in the case of both sex
and drinking, the journey is often best when you never reach the destination.
