First add the mint schnapps, then add the kahlua and finally add the scotch. If done correctly you should have three different layers.
You first get the fire of the scotch then the taste of the liquer and finally the cooling taste of the mint schnapps. This drink came about one day when I was experimenting with different combinations of liquers with mint schnapps and scotch.
