I'm not a bartender. I searched the Internet in a number of ways. I even
searched by the ingredients: Amaretto, vodka, Kahlua and soda, and came up
empty. I found, to my surprise, that the Mind Eraser is one of the few drinks
I've seen that the recipe is consistent. They all call for a coffee liqueur,
vodka and club soda.
It could have been a regional thing, a mistake by the bartender, a totally
different shot, a bartender preference, or the way that the bar made that
drink. If you look at drinks like Mexican Martini, Captain Morgan and many
martini drinks a lot of establishments have their own special house recipes
that are quite different from each other. Unless you specify what you want in
a drink you are ordering you don't know what you will get. There is no rule
when you order a drink by any name what they must put in it, unless it is
stated some were in the establishment - like on their menue. When I order a
drink in a bar, restaurant, etc., to be safe, I always tell them the name of
the drink and how I want it made. Unfortunately it never tastes as good as
when I make it at home.

If you like that drink so much why not give it a name and submit it to the
Webtender.

How about:

Mind Eraser submitted

3 oz Kahlua
3 oz Vodka
6 oz Club Soda
A straw
Some Ice

Whoa... write this concoction down or else you might forget how to make this
one! First, fill up a small glass halfway with ice cubes and then pour the
Kahlua into it. After that, drip the Vodka over a spoon into the glass to get
the curly effect going. Finally, fill that sucker up with club soda and drink
it all as fast as you can through a straw. Watch how your head will start to
pound harder than chalk board erasers in detention.
