It is a spoon with a blade similar to that of a soup spoon (in fact a lot of 
people use those as a substitute) ... it acts as a baffle plate to spread the 
Guinness out as it goes into the glass.  Very useful in drink like black and 
tans to keep the two beers from mixing.

The big difference betwen a Guiness spoon and a soup spoon is the Guiness has 
a sharp switchback curve in the handle that allows it to hand on the lip of 
the glass making your job easier.

If you work for a bar that sells Guiness I would suggest asking your 
distributor about them.  Your distributor will probably get you a free one.
