Why do corporate restaurants make you wait tables before you bartend? I've
always stayed with mom and pop places specifically for this reason, I remember
years ago, I took a job at one of those corporate places and the manager told
me it would be two weeks before I would be behind the bar, I remember on the
day of the two weeks, I quit because I came in and he still had me scheduled
as a server.
Buffalo wild wings is the only one who hires from the outside, but why is
this. I currently am employed with wild wings and another corporate
restaurant, but its so depressing working this other place, I watch obvious
brand new bartenders drown, and I mean DROWN when I could handle that bar
alone, yet I don't say anything, or cant really. The agm and gm already know
my history and qualifications, you think they would want someone qualified.
Infact, I even told them to give me a couple of days to think about accept the
server position because of shit just like this.
I don't know how long these guys have been back there, but its clear they've
never bartended before, maybe they just got put back there before I was hired,
but wtf? why not move them back on the floor. So anyone ever gm'd before?
Is this a lie? will I be waiting tables forever? I hate it, I vowed never to
do it again, yet here I am. It's a huge pill to swallow considering I havent
even accepted a server job in well over 10 years, this is why I stayed away
from corporations. The agm told me I had to learn the food, but if these
people just got put back there, they probably arent going anywhere anytime
soon. any tips? thanks!
