Hi there. I help out with some bartending at a private club in the Los Angeles
area. Last night I was working barback for the head bartender, and another
lady was also working part of the bar. We make frequent trips to the ice
maker. This one lady, before turning the bucket upside down at the sink, would
spray it with liquid sanitizer after each and every use (around every 45
minutes or so). The head bartender just said at the end of the night. I
personally thought that spraying any kind of chemical into a bucket used for
cocktail ice that often was unnecessary. She said it was a county thing. So
with the one lady around 5-7 spray downs of the inside of the bucket.
I think it is way too much use of a chemical, whatever is in it. Does anybody
have any comments on this? Is there anywhere to find official county info on
this?
Thanks,
Bruno
