What type of bar is the setting? This makes a huge difference...the way it
reads sounds like a bar that is way behind the cocktail culture times...is it
a dive bar?

Although "blue" drinks have been looked down upon in the cocktail world,
recently they have been making a comeback since higher end blue Curaçao's
being made available. If your character, Quinn, is in a bar that keeps up with
the times then I would suggest taking a classic like International bartender
winner, Erik Lorincz and twisting a classic. He took a Corpse Reviver #2 and
made it a Corpse Reviver Number Blue. And last year on my menu I put a New
Orleans Blues on my menu. Here are photos:

If you want to keep the "smoky" blue part then it will have to have something
creamy I guess....so it would have to have half-n-half or something like
Sambuca. Sambuca, when mixed with water (melting ice cubes) will turn cloudy
milky white due to the oils being mixed with water.
