I'm having a problem with my co-workers making drinks in an inconsistent
manner. For example, I have two co-workers that use grapefruit sour off the
gun instead of sweet and sour to make a Long Island...yuck, seriously. Or how
they use simple syrup to make a mojito rather than granulated sugar when
granulated sugar tastes better and helps to bring out the flavor of the mint
during the muddling process. Problem is that these employees are 1)men - and
I'm a woman and 2)have worked at my restaurant for years when I have only been
there for a few months. But, I've been bartending for almost 20 years and
they have not. When I bring any of these issues up I'm basically looked at
like I'm an idiot and have no idea what I'm talking about. It's really
starting to tick me off!
