I tend to avoid the chain restaurants. They may offer a bartending position in
the classifieds, but when you go in to apply, they present a bait and switch
and try to get you to "start out" as a server, another nice way of saying that
there probably was not a bartending position in the first place. That said, I
did briefly work for a Red Lobster, starting out as a bartender, but only
briefly: wasn't Tending bar as a banquet bartender made me more money every
night I would work.
