one of the best things you can do is to get a good cocktail book and really
study it. i recommend The Craft of the Cocktail. learn to make drinks the
right way with good ingredients and by caring. because you are probably to
young to tend bar (depends on your state) i would get a job in a restaurant or
bar doing anything. Plenty of bars will hire you as a barback especially with
the summer coming up. find a great bartender wherever you work and really
study this person as well. learn and model yourself after them. ask them to
show you the basics. learn a little at a time in the real world and take what
you get from school and combine the two. i'm sure you'll be a successful bar
owner. i have some more advice on my blog
