Subject: Mint Julep

All the recipes for Mint Juleps on here call for sugar added to the drink, I
prefer to make a mint infused syrup for the drink. Here's the recipe:

1. Add 2 parts sugar to one part water in a sauce pan and boil down to the
desired viscosity. Typically, I boil it until you can tell it runs off a spoon
slower than water.

2. Put a handful of fresh mint leaves in a glass measuring cup (big enough to
hold the syrup).

3. Pour the hot syrup over the mint leaves and let the mint steep in the syrup
for 30 minutes. Then remove the wilted leaves.

4. Over crushed ice, mix the syrup and bourbon to your liking.

One of the things I like best about this recipe it that it can be mixed to
various strengths. Some people add a little powdered sugar on the ice for
looks and garnish with a fresh mint leaf.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
