Rick, I'd like for you to show me where this is on my site because it's
incorrect. Rose's lime juice is a lime cordial (sweetened lime juice). The
story I know about it is that it was introduced in 1867 by Lauchlin Rose from
Scotland. It was made mandatory for all ships in both the Royal Navy, and
British Merchant Navy, to include lime juice in the sailors’ daily rations to
prevent scurvy, so Laughlin added sugar to lime juice to preserve it for long
voyages.
The Cuba Libre (free Cuba) was invented in the late 1800s and it's simply rum
(preferably Cuban) & coke (Coca Cola has just come out) with a squeeze of
fresh lime juice. I wouldn't trust hardly anything in a Mr. Boston's Book from
the 1980s. The only Mr. Boston's Book worth quoting is the platinum version
that came out 2 years ago. The recipes from Webtender were put there by anyone
that wanted to list a recipe. They were not monitored. The man that owns this
site is not a bartender/mixologist. This was just a college project for him
over 12 years ago. Submissions have not been allowed for many years now. And
your Boston Bartending School book in incorrect...as a lot of bar school
recipe books are.

Suntory, the company that originally made Midori (means green in Japanese) is
in Japan. However, it is now and for awhile is made in Mexico. Midori was
launched in 1978 at Studio 54 (NYC) for John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever
wrap party.

Campari is a bitter. It's an acquired taste. I've found the older my taste
buds have gotten, the more I like it. Most popular cocktails made with it are
the Americano and Negroni.

Neat is poured from the bottle at room temperature...no ice. Usually it's just
one spirit.
Up is short for straight up, which means it will be chilled in the glass...no
ice. To achieve up/straight up the bottle must come from the fridge/freeer or
you shake with ice and strain.
