Many bars do not even have rye whiskey, so use a good sour mash bourbon.
Therefore you should ask what type of bourbon they would like. You could go
even further and ask if they would like it sweet, dry, or perfect. In which
you would garnish olive = dry, cherry = sweet, and perfect = lemon peel. The
mahattan is tradiationally made sweet.

The modern martini drinker has many questions to answer. Some vodka drinks
were originally made with gin, although modern american culture has left many
to believe the martini consist of primarily vodka.

Therefore we ask, Gin or Vodka

What type of gin or vodka would you like?

You should always stir spirit only cocktails, again the modern drinker is
almost offended if you don't ask "shaken or stirred"? like some sort of james
bond monkey.

If Vodka is requested you should probably go ahead and ask if they would like
it dirty also. From here you could also ask the same sweet, dry, or perfect
questions.

Margarita

Salt or no salt, frozen or on the rocks, and what type of tequila would you
like?
