Working on a new cocktail menu for a new bar, and I wanted to do a traditional
hurricane. I bought Goya passion fruit juice, sweetened it and boiled it down
to a syrup. I used 10 cane and Appleton estate rums, and fresh lime juice.
The drink seems to bring out all the negative, bitter qualities of both the
rum and the juice. I've tried a lot of combinations, and the best I can seem
to get is "meh." Is this drink just overrated or am I doing something wrong?
