Rather than put it in the drink I would put it under the punch bowl to keep it
cold and pour a scented tea onto it to make it smoke.
However, to build on Dan's point below, there IS special danger with CO2 -
firstly always have adequate ventilation, if you feel yourself getting dizzy
and light headed when working with it get some fresh air immediately. DO NOT
use it in small and enclosed spaces (like a small basement bar with broken
air-conditioning for instance!) If you've ever stuck your nose inside a
fermentation vat and almst keeled over, that's the CO2. Secondly, the
temperature is cold enough to cause freeze burns and frostbite fairly quickly
(at -78.6C) so don't wear jewellery and don't use your bare hands. also don't
eat/drink it.
While it is relatively safe to use for special effects and even some culinary
uses if it's your first time make sure your supplier gives you a full health
and safety rundown and any accompanying literature on safety when handling Dry
Ice.
