Subject: Getting that First Job out of Bartending School
From: JMWhiteIV

So I decided to attend Bartending School because I wanted a chance of pace in
Career options. Plus I am recently unemployed, so now was a good time for a
night school while I job-hunt during the day, you know?

anyhow, I'm about halfway done with Bartending School, and while I am looking
for a general job, doing SOMETHING(can't just sit around the house all day,
I'm not a Student, I got Rent to pay and kids to feed), I am considering just
how difficult it is going to be for me to break into Bartending. I've got no
bartending Experience, and my only restaurant experience is as a Waiter at an
Olive Garden. and I know that Bartending is a totally different animal from
Serving.

I'm at the Catch-22 right now. Can't get hired with no experience, can't get
experience without being hired.

Any general tips for getting that first Bartender job? My general plan was to
try and get a job as a Waiter, since I do have that experience..and then kinda
try to finagle my way behind the bar somehow. Any better ideas?
