Subject: Family owned vs. corporate?

I am totally new to this site but in my reading I have found this site to be
super informative and pretty cool.

I am a bartender in CA with all of my experience coming from 2 bars. My first
gig was in a nightclub that was a high volume bar. I was a Long Island Iced
Tea based drink making fool! My second job was/is in a fine dining restaurant
that has a full bar and specializes in classic cocktails with fresh juices and
original recipes. I am getting ready to start a new job at a large resort. I
will be working in their steakhouse, in the piano bar/lounge and I will be
working at a mini bar during private events.

The first 2 jobs I had were family owned and operated. The resort is obviously
going to be more corporate. I just wanted to open a line of discussion with
everyone about the 2 different worlds...maybe learn a little from the
experiences of each other.

Any thoughts?
