I use citrus-flavored vodka, it's important to understand just because it was
in some old bar book that you don't know about doesn't mean anything. Stop
referenceing links, proof. Because quite honestly, I can set up a website
tonight and make a page for the 1933 cosmo and claim it was made with whiskey.
or make a website with a link to a book that I know nobody has access too and
claim the recipe is in there. I mean, get real.

Chances are there were several versions of a that 1933 cosmo that were made
with brandy or rye. Gin was often used in the early part of the 20th century
because of prohibition and gin was the easiest thing to get, but it wasn't
called a cosmo. So this gin recipe may not be entirely accurate (I.E. rum
runner with gin). But like I said, even if it is printed, it was only printed
in 1 book, there were hundreds of bar books in 1933, so in comparison, you'd
have better chances winning the lottery than considering this drink a tried
and true call of the era.

furthermore, if this is the original cosmo, where do we get this new recipe
from, I guess I just made it up. and I know that if I was served a cosmo with
gin, that shit would go back across the bar faster than one of adam's drinks.
You'd have a hard time convincing 99.9% of the patrons and bartenders that
anything other than citrus vodka goes in a cosmo.

what season would I place this drink under? it's not in the sour family.
