BOOKS
You make no money writing books. When all is said and done the fee they give
you barely covers your time. Plus you have to give the agent 15% then Uncle
Sam comes a knocking for 30%. The publishers and book sellers make all the
money but they distribute and market them which you wouldn't get if you
self-published. The best thing that the books do is open doors and new
opportunities.
Custom Resumes
The Custom Resumes and Cocktail Papers have sold well. They went into a slump
over the holidays, but have picked up recently.
Build-Your-Own-Resume
The Build-Your-Own-Resume hasn't done so well. I was surprised at that.
Biz Cards
The Biz Cards do well and most of the ideas of them came from special requests
from people.
Cocktail Jewelry
The Cocktail Jewelry had been so-so until just a month ago. All of a sudden it
has taken off, which is why I just Inc.'d myself, bought a 10 X 10 tent and
all that goes with it then plan on doing the art & craft festival circuit in
Florida. I've added to my inventory that is not on the jewelry page yet, but
will be soon.
-If anyone wants to see where I'll be I always post my events at my blog.
Simply click the "Miss Charming™ Events tab at the top-
iPhone App
As for the iPhone App, well, I won't know that # for awhile. The full version
(which comes out this week) is $2.99. Apple takes 30% then me and the game
developer split the rest.
Recipe Cards
I have some Miss Charming Cocktail Recipe Cards coming out this year that are
suppose to hit spirit and grocery stores (the grocery stores in the West sell
beer, wine, and liquor). They are free to customers to help the store sell
more. I Don't make any money, except for the creation, consulting, and
photoshoot, but like the books, it gets my name out there and could open up
more doors for me.
Goals
My end of the year goal is to pay cash for an RV, hook up satellite Internet,
install solar panels on top, rent my condo, and travel to cocktail events,
festivals to sell my jewelry, or anywhere else I wanna go while living in the
RV. I lived in an RV for 2 years once and loved it. But that was back when the
highest technology was a beeper.
Oh, also I was just accepted by Royal Caribbean to teach cocktail classes.
That took like 6 months to be accepted. No money, but I get to trade a cruise
for 2 whenever I want in trade for teaching 3 one hour classes to 200-300
passengers on sea days while on a 7-10 day cruise.
Just a girl trying to make a living.
Cheers!
