Subject: How do (or should) bars train their employees?

Say you're new to the business, just got your first bartending job. Gimme two 
scenarios - How should a manager train a brand-new (or relatively 
inexperienced) bartender? Should they barback for a week? How much hands on 
work before you throw the new bartender to the wolves?

That's in a perfect world. In the real world, what do most managers do with 
new bartenders to train them?
