I would use a hot plate and a pyrex coffee pot (remember these?).  That way 
the aroma would fill the room getting your guest's attention as they come in.  
The hot plate would keep it at a constant temp, just watch for reduction.

I'm gonna run with your idea here.  Thanks for the inspiration!

Another fun way to do this is to make a foam out of the tomato juice and 
seasonings and floating that over the vodka.
