

There is only one time I feel it's necessary to correct someone about
something at the bar, and that's when it comes to cocktail recipes, history's,
etc. If someone says something completely wrong, like James Bond invented the
Martini, I feel the need to correct them and give them plenty of background.
I'd say 95% of the time, if this is done delicately and correctly, they will
see you not as a know-it-all snot, but as someone who is truly knowledgeable
and passionate about their job, and will end up tipping accordingly. (And
being pleased with their new knowledge)
