To be a barback you dont need any special skills for the most part. Can you
lift/move a keg?

Apply to every nightclub in sight, they all use barbacks and you just need to
find a place that is in need for whatever reason. Let the management know
that you would like to work your way up to bartender eventually but that you
are willing to bust your ass as a barback until then.

Basic job of a barback is that you are the bartenders' bitch. Duties vary
from place to place but include changing kegs/soda, keeping juices full,
taking out trash, stocking beer and liquor, keeping ice bins full, etc.
Basically everything except making drinks for customers. Its a thankless job
but its a great way to get your foot in the door.
