If you're in New York send a mail to cocktailcolin[at]gmail.com and say hi to
Colin Appiah, he trained all the staff for jamie Oliver's restaurant in
London, now lives in NYC and will hook you up with the right people. Say hi
from Merlin to him. Or root out Alex Fiot of the Flatiron Lounge who may have
the time to train you.
In the meantime, look up the best bars in town and ask for a job as a barback
- get paid to learn while you work.
Now you have connections ;-)
