Subject: Blending Tips?

I had my first frozen/blended drink about six months ago. The drink made for
me was quite the odd one, it was a Blue Revv cooler and a Smirnoff Ice cooler
blended with ice. I thought it was quite good, but when I attempted it myself,
it failed miserably. The drinks had slush floating on top with liquid on the
bottom and were watered down beyond belief.

Is there a general amount of ice you should use while blending for one drink
(hard liquors, not interested in re-attempting the cooler fiasco)? Also, if
anyone has citrus inspired (or your favs!) drinks that you blend regularly,
please let me know and I will give them a try! One I for sure want to try is a
Watermelon Margarita with real watermelon.

For instance, I like these bottle caps drop-shots and I figure they'd turn
into a wonderful frozen drink. I mix Root Beer Schnapps, Sour Puss, Margarita
Mix and Sprite. I figure if I altered that I could make a good drink, but the
problem is I don't know how much ice to liquid ratio to use so that it goes
thick. I figure if I could figure this ratio out, I could make my own drinks
with ease, not to mention transform normal favorites into slushes.

I prefer Cranberry or Orange/Pineapple/etc... type drinks if that helps.

And although these drinks are a bit girlie (as long as it gets me drunk, I
have no problems with that), but I was wondering if anyone had a blended drink
recipe/idea made with some JD in it?

Thanks!
