The bar I worked at did an informal bartending class, 6 hours a week for 4 weeks, but this was after I had worked as a bartender there for 4 months. > 2 1/2: How long after this school did you get a bartending job? I only make $2.15 an hour (minimum wage) but I usually average about $12 in tips per hour. On holidays and such I've made as mush as $40 an hour in tips. > 5. Do you enjoy it? Have you ever created a new drink of your own? I love it, I have two degrees and yet I would rather bartend. I made a drink I call call "Pineapple Upside-down Cake" which has become very popular at my bar. > 6. Do you use FLAIR in your bartending (Flipping/juggling bottles, > lit drinks, pouring 2 bottles from the same hand)? I do an occasional bottle flip if the customer seems to need some entertaining, and of course, the two bottle pour is usually good for some raised eyebrows. I've heard it is illegal to light drinks in Arizona. > 7. Did you ever have a bar fight? What was the outcome? What sign do > you always go by to say "Sorry Sir you've had enough"? Unfortunately being a large danceclub, we average a couple of fights per weekend I usually don't get involved unless I'm helping our doormen. As far as a "sign," you just get a feel for people. There are so many indicators when a person has "had enough". Some people might slur but walk straight, or vice versa. You simply learn to tell. Good luck > Please reply to this, I NEED IT.
