Hello, I am David Bodman, I am 14 and currently in the 9th grade. I was recently assigned a paper in my English class. It is to be written about my future occupation. I am seriously considering bartending, my father was a bartender for 4 years and from his experiences it sounds like a very professional and free spirited job. Now, for my paper I require a certain amount of sources to be cited (the assignment is being worked around my class learning about citing websites and magazines), and one of the options is an interview. If any, absolutely any real-life certified bartender could answer a few of my questions, I'd be grateful. 1. How old were you when you started bartending? 2. Did you go to a special school to learn bartending? If so, which one and describe the things that you did there: Time of classes, how many classes a week, amount of classes, what did you learn at the school overall, and was it enjoyable? 2 1/2: How long after this school did you get a bartending job? 3. Do you need a license? How do you get one? 4. How much do you get paid by the hour? Average weekly income? And if you wouldn't mind, how much to you make on your PAYCHECK a night compared to how much you make on tips. EXAMPLE: I make $80 a night, plus about $50-60 on tips. 5. Do you enjoy it? Have you ever created a new drink of your own? 6. Do you use FLAIR in your bartending (Flipping/juggling bottles, lit drinks, pouring 2 bottles from the same hand)? 7. Did you ever have a bar fight? What was the outcome? What sign do you always go by to say "Sorry Sir you've had enough"? Please reply to this, I NEED IT. If you want to email me the answers email me at saxguy9345[at]hotmail.com . If not, reply them. Thank you.
