I think it needs no discussion that bartendingschoolsgenerally offer bad
education. A lot of debates are misunderstandings. There can be bartendings
schools offering proper education and there can be bartendingschools offering
bad education which still can be helpfull. These examples are often wrongly
used to counter the statement 'bartendingschools are generally bad
education'. I think it is important to see a difference in 'bartendingschools
offering good education' and 'bartendingschools can be helpfull' (like a fake
diploma is not good education but it may help you). I hope most people agree
that bartendingschools are not good education. In that case we could have at
least one statement which all would agree to be seen as a fact,
It mustn't be difficult to think of many scenarios how bad education makes
rookies with a "grade" in bartending less good bartenders (or less easy people
to live with behind the wood).
BTW I have no experience with American bartendingschools of my own but I have
seen enough trough the internet goggles. I did not mean to say that bartendingschools can't be good. I say (most) bartendingschools aren't good. Things
shouldn't be taken personally. I can imagine many bartending school rookies
feel personally attacked reading some posts on these forums but if they are
about people in general they do not need to mean 'you' in specific. And if
they are about specific people than they do not need to be generalized to mean
'you' as well.
