I've dealt with my share of bartending schools having peddled BarSim, among
other things. Setting up a bartending school, at least in most states is not a
walk in the park. I know that many states regulate and license bartending
schools, since they're considered vocational schools. Some states go as far as
to require a certain placement percentage to stay licensed.

Once you've handled this, you have a commercial lease to deal with, building
out the school (which isn't cheap), and a crap load of marketing to get the
students in the door. Not to mention, any desireable market already has two or
more bartending schools, so competition is tough.

I became friends with a guy that owned a small bartending school in Portland a
few years back, and he ended up hating it. He was at the point of literally
just shutting it down until he finally found a buyer.
