Subject: Apple Pie Punch - my proportions/can it be done?

Hi all,

I'm having a gathering this weekend and wanted to make an apple cider based
punch of some sort (given the holiday season, and I would like to try to
elevate my peers from the normal vodka/fruit punch and gin bucket that they
are used to). I saw a few recipes for "Apple Pie" shots that supposedly taste
just like homemade apple pie - although I'm not particularly sure which one
would taste best. I was thinking about making about making 6 or so gallons of
punch, so here's what I was thinking...

3 gallons apple cider
1 fifth of Hot Damn/Cinnamon Schnapps
1 fifth of Buttershots
1-2 handles of some sort of spirit
Ginger Ale

The cinnamon schnapps is in there for spice and the buttershots is in there to
give it a more "baked good" flavor. The ginger ale is to give it a gingery
flavor - as ginger is an ingredient in apple pies.

This is a very tentative recipe. I'm not even sure if this would produce the
requisite apple pie flavor. So here are my questions:

I know that Bols makes a Pumpkin Smash Liqueur - should I use that instead of
the cinnamon schnapps? Would the buttershots form too much of a contrast with
the rest of the ingredients? Should I use vodka or a darker spirit?

Thanks!

~CP
