Subject: Becoming a Bartender (sorry)
From: Bryan M

Sorry guys and girls, I posted this in the wrong forum previously.

I have just started a new sales job during that day. Since it's commission
only
for the most part and I am new, it will be a little slow going. I have always
been interested in bartending and now I figure it would be a good time to
start. What is the best way to get my foot in the door. I spoke with the
bartender at the bar I go to and he said I didn't need school, just get a book
and memorize the popular drinks. I live in Orange County, CA. How tough is the
job hunting hear? Oh, and this isn't a short term thing until I make some
money. I am sort of a workaholic. I came from the mortgage industry where I
was able to work 12 hr days plus to the business to business sales that you
can only contact businesses during normal business hours. So I need something
to do to keep me out of trouble, and why not make money and meet new people
while I do it? I read the msg below and am wondering if I need to go the
barback route? Do barbacks share in the tips?

Thanks
