

I haven't worked in New York, so take this as second hand knowledge, but I've
followed these forums and others enough to learn the following:
If you don't have NYC experience, you will start from the bottom, period.
Unless you are Gary Regan or Christian Delpeche (i.e. a celebrity bartender),
few places will hire you without NYC experience. As I'm sure you're aware,
every large city's service industry is a close knit community. NYC is the
same, except with a larger population at a higher density. Read: More
competition.
Expect to barback for awhile before anybody gives you a chance to pour, and
good luck.
