Hi,

I too went to bartending school and just recently (FINALLY) found a job. It
took me 2 and a half months though. Basically what I learned was if you have
no experience then people are less willing to give you a chance. You probably
have a better chance at new restaurants opening, etc.

But what worked for me was embellishing a little on my resume. I said that I
had bartended before just to spark some interest. It was still hard, but
probably not as hard as me sending out a resume with no bar experience on it.

Then when you get an interview, you just have to turn it up! Make it seem like
you know what you're doing ... understand the industry, etc. And once you get
behind the bar ... fake it 'til you make it. :o) It's funny, but that's
seriously what I have been doing. Since you went to school you already have a
good amount of knowledge. If you get behind the bar, look confident and the
drinks taste good, then you'll be straight!

Check out this site. She provides a wealth of great information. She can
also hook up a bartender resume for you.

Good luck!
