First off - Hambone's advice is solid.  Busy nightclubs ALWAYS need 
hardworking guys to barback for them.  Now...

Second - Barbacking: in its most basic form, the barback is the bartenders' 
bitch.  You do everything they say.  You can make some decent money (in some 
places barbacks are split evenly with the bartenders, thought that's rare), 
but you have the opportunity to learn.  Do a search on this site for "barback 
duty" to get an idea of the work that needs to be done.
