Just a note....most bartenders, when coming up with recipes are just looking
for coconut flavor. I don't think a lot a people know about the alcohol
volume ratios in both of those two spirits. That being said, it's always
great to know. If you wish, save yourself some trouble and think
malibu=coconut rum. This way, you can use any of the coconut rums. At my
bar, we use cruzan coconut rum now and in those multi-ingredient drink
recipes, you can't tell it's mailbu or cruzan, or parrot bay, ect...
