Friday's spec is 1/2 oz each of vodka, gin, rum and triple sec mixed with
2oz of their own powdered sweet & sour mix, (not sour mix), topped with
about 2oz of coke. Unlike sour mix, their s&s is a granulated form of lime,
  lemon, sugar and orange.

If your wife is a liit afecianado, why not surprise her with a variant?
Exchange the coke for cranberry juice for her birthday for a long beach IT,
or if you really want your wicked way, (ie sister, best friend etc) try a
harlem mugger, swap the triple sec for grand marnier (the same concept, ie
orange liqueur, but sexier) add 1/2oz kahlua and shake with cranberry, then
  top it off with champagne.

In bars, unfortunately, we have to live by a certain uniformity, because
customers expect what they know, and feel comfortable with, but at home,
with your wife, why try to copy the bars? Keep their drinks as a special
treat for when you go out and create your own at home.
