Ahoy hoy,
Judging from the link, and if I recall past topics correctly, you're from Oz,
right? You'll have a hard time finding Gary and Dale's books for cheap from
any of the major bookstores. I ordered my copies from
www.emporiumbooks.com.au
at a price significantly cheaper than both Amazon and any other bookstore I
asked could match.
They had free shipping once the order hit a certain amount, so I tossed in a
few other books for good measure. Oddly enough I own copies of the 4 books
Cheryl recommended, and I second the recommendation.

Gary's book is very technical and "correct", whereas Dale's is a bit more easy
going for the bartender who wants to know more from a reputable source. Our
industry is small on professionals, so we tend to promote books written by
people that are respected for their craft.

If you're really keen to find some wacky cocktails, check out Hayden Wood's
Liquid Kitchen series (I recommend Party Drinks). If nothing else, it's good
inspiration. :) Plus, he's an Aussie (actually a kiwi, but we claim anything
good from UnZud).

Hope that helps you.
A.
