It's not really any different from the celebrity chefs that go on to show
"quick and easy" recipes you can make at home. Even worse, a few of the celeb
chefs who've put their names onto frozen dinners. Of course, none of the
people looking to promote themselves would be able to go onto a show and make
a common and classic recipe because everybody already knows how to make that,
so instead they make up a way to bastardize the recipe and produce something
that's passable (but only just passable) to the average person who knows
little to nothing about cocktails. There's too few experts (or even
knowledgeable people) to question the quality or challenge the self-promoters,
thus, nobody is ever the wiser.
As a side question, shouldn't it be the audiance (especially at home) that
should be drinking just to watch The View? Talk about a circus act...
