Hello everyone,

I want to get as much advice, personal experiences, or anything related to
starting and running my own private Bartending business. This idea really
interests me and I think I could do a great job, especially living here in
Southern California.

It would just be me for hire for events such as: Weddings, Birthdays,
Business, Anniversarys, Holidays (any other ideas out there?)

I know I would need to buy my own equipment; but, up to which point should the
event holder supply . (liquors, salt, swizzle sticks, juice bottles,
pourers...etc.)

What rates should I charge? Should it vary on the kind of Event, Open bar,
number of people attending?

Creating a Business card thats catchy and will attract business. Maybe setting
up a little website, where they could preview photos, recipes, experience. (
Ideas for a name, Motto...)

Some Background Info on me:
I'm relatively young and new to Bartending, but my goal is to become a career
Bartender who is knowledgeable in the classic cocktails, and to essentially be
a more than just a Bartender, a Mixologist.

I've been behind the bar since I turned 21. I will be 23 years old this summer.

Barbacked at a Golf Course. Also did Banquet Serving here for over a year

Barbacked at a Bowling Alley/ Restaurant for 4 months. Bartended on Slower
nites.

Barbacked at a Fast paced Ultra Lounge for 4 months. (Here I worked with a
team of 5 barbacks in one shift, Was able to see hundreds of new liquors,
wines, beers, etc that aren't your average stocked. NO sweet n sour here,
Everything was Fresh and from scrap, and had a very classic feel)

Bartending at a Restaurant for the past 3 months. I definitely want to expand
my horizons.

Great Social skills and customer service. Been working at Starbucks for over a
year.
(Baileys in your frappucino sir?)

On my free time, I Browse Webtender.com, alconomics, the thinking bartender,
art of the drink. Read and compare recipes, historys of liquors & drinks, wines.

Currently pursuing a Business degree in Finance at a University (a Junior)

Athletic, Professional, Formal dining etiquette, Sense of Humor, Doesn't Panic.

Thank you all for your time. I greatly appreciate any feedback.
