OK, I've been away for a little while and have come back to webtender, but I
seem to remember that the merits of bartending school have been debated at
length in these pages-try searching 'bartending school' on the search option
and checking out what's been said before. I probably don't have anything new
to add to it, but bear in mind that although it can get you a foot in the
door, its no substitute (and not as much fun) for good ole fashioned
experience. Everyone who contributes here does so because they love the
discipline of bartending,(not because we have nothing else to talk about/no
real friends-honest!!!!) The rewards are so much more than the money (which
isn't always fantastic) and it becomes much more than just a job. I worked bar
to pay for school as well so I know what its like to try and balance the two.
Truth is that I've never had as much fun or met as many interesting people.
Work hard, study hard, but never forget that people go to bars to have a good
time-and they will respond to you so much better if you look like you're
having a blinder as well. Enjoy
