Some possibilities (all already done, but maybe good for inspiration):

Throw some Cointreau in there and cut back/remove the sugar. (like a White 
Lady & Soda) 

Switch out the syrups. (raspberry, orgeat, ginger, pineapple, all sorts of 
options)

Stick some mint in there, make it like a Southside Fizz. 

Cut the gin with vodka (3:1? 2:2?), to snag the Vodka Collins types.
