If you don't want to just go out and buy some triple sec, then just use 
anything kinda sweet in the house.  You just want to mellow it out a 
little--something to kind of soften the harshness. Maybe a tiny drop of frozen 
orange juice concentrate mixed in?  I'm sure you can find something :)  You 
must be planning quite the night to be making Long Islands at home...
