Jmere, you forgot to mention that in the preparation of caipirinha, according
to brazilian tradition, crushed ice should be used rather than in cubes, and
not necessarily caipirinha is prepared with such a high proof cachaca,(like
zyedgo says) actually the cachaca used in almost every brazilian bar is just
similar in proofs to any standard rum you drink around , by the way if you
substitute cachaca with rum you obtain a Caipirissima, and with vodka you
obtain a Caipiroska. Just in case you'd like to know, caipirinha means "little
farmer girl", Saude!!!! Cheers
