If by "standard mixed drink" you're referring to a highball, then you'd more
than likely be referring to a highball or sometimes bucket glass (but really,
it varies quite a bit). I've seen highball glasses range from 8oz to 12 oz
depending on the style, brand etc. My favorite was always the 8oz Libby
highball. Not the prettiest by any means, but perfect for a decent highball
drink. Considering you fill the glass full of ice, and we can assume that the
ice occupies roughly 50% of the available space inside the glass, you're
looking at 1 1/4 oz booze (fairly standard pour) to 2 3/4 mixer. I never had
anyone claim a drink was underpoured when using these, but when we switched to
a thin walled, 11.5 oz bucket, it was a common complaint.
