Dom, I have to admit, you really didn't pick the best Mexican beach resort,
really, the main part of Puerto Vallarta doesn't even really have a beach to
speak of. Though you're right, the food there is rather nice, but you can't
expect a decent margarita anywhere in Mexico - in fact, consistent beverages
are pretty much non-existent. I can't even get a consistent drink at the same
bar, from the same bartender, the same day here!

Next time you make it to Mexico, try and head down to the Oaxacan coast - stay
in Huatulco, spend a couple nights in Puerto Escondido, then a day or two in
Oaxaca City (once the mess of protests get wrapped up). Probably won't find a
decent margarita their either, but you will find great Mezcal (Oaxaca is the
primary source), and very distinct cuisine and culture - and MUCH better
beaches!
