I have to admit that when I got into bartending, I wasen't in it for the art
of it. Not everyone was born with the desire to bartend. I fell into the
position, thought it would be fun, make me alot of money to take care of my
children.... and it did. But I have to say that it just being fun and the
money being good raised my passion for perfecting the profession. In time, it
wasen't all about the money. It was about going in and doing a damn good job,
making the best drinks I could, and making the people walk out with a smile.

If you get into it, and decide it's not for you, then fine move on. But if it
is what you enjoy, then your already on your way. I know many of bartenders
that got into it, just for the money. Years later, their still doing it.
Because they learned to love it and respect the art of it. You really wont
know until you try, and if your only doing it to get money for college, that's
alright too. Just do us bartenders a favor, help keep the respect for the
profession by treating it like a profession.

Tara
