I found a new way to spike a watermelon.
I've tried many methods to spike a watermelon, but by far the best is to buy
an 8-oz injector bottle that is normally sold with a BBQ prep set like
pictured here:

I've tried syringes, meat injectors and sticking a bottle in the top, but they
are time consuming because the limited barrel size and limited fridge space.
The 8oz bottle only has to be filled up 4 times because there are about 25.6
ounces in a fifth of liquor. Okay, maybe one shot is for you and the rest for
the watermelon:). Start with a chilled watermelon then inject the top. Refill
and repeat injecting the length of the watermelon three more times. Set back
in the fridge 6-24 hours. When ready, cut up and serve.
Don't use alcohol higher proof than 100 because it eats away at the meat.
Clear flavored rums or vodkas are the best. Just pick a favorite flavor! Lower
proofed liqueurs can be used as well like peach and Malibu. Just make sure
they are clear so that the watermelon meat stays red.
