Subject: Making a Shooter Book
From: Daven

Greetings all!

First off, I'm a newbie bartender who's only been working socials and weekend
events for a year so my apologies in advance if I offend anyone with my
ignorance.
Now that that's out of the way...
I'm trying to write a book on shooters, on the theory that a little knowledge
is a dangerous, but useful, thing, and it's more fun than my fruitless quest
for summer work as a bartender while in university. It's still basically in
planning stage, and I have many questions to ask. Anyone who can help me out
will be in the credits if they wish.

Here are some of my questions:
1. Does anyone have a list of specific gravities for my layering guide. It's
frustrating layering shots without a good one, so I'm trying to make mine as
comprehensive as I can.
2. I read somewhere that shooters are a Canadian invention but I can't remeber
where. Does anyone know anything about the history of shooters?
3. Anything specific you would be looking for in a shooter guide? So far I've
got Introduction, How to Layer, glass & barware, and the drink list for
chapters. The appendices so far are a layering guide, Liqueur List w/
pronunciation, and Drinks index.
4. Any ideas for a title? The best title I've come up with so far is "Shoot:
the Works", but I'm open to suggestions.

My email address is sdmcvicar[at]home.com for any additional input or questions.
Thanks for your feedback in advance.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
