Subject: Bar Ideas/Concepts and Promotions - cost major issue?
From: summieone

As some of you know - I do a fair bit of consultancy work on the side of doing
legal malarky.

Anyway - one bar that I assist in take a very different approach in promotions
from what I do.

Essentially, they come up with an idea and say - how much does it cost. If it
doesn't cost much they go for it.

My main drawback is that if they didn't properly think out the issue and don't
fully support it then its not worth doing.

For example, they will be getting a new late night food service in the bar. I
don't think it will work yadayadayada and they are like - well its not going
to cost us nothing.

I want to respond - it may not cost you financially directly but it could cost
reputation and customer loss in the long term.

Any comments?
