I feel extremely relieved right now. I seriously just spent the past three
months looking for a bartending job after I quit at my last place. Got hired a
week ago at a Japanese restaurant but the general manager talked me down to
being a food runner to start out. Just got a call today from a cafe/bar and I
was a bit surprised because I applied two months ago. But they hired me and
I'm going in tomorrow to talk some more and work out a schedule so I can start
training.
It's a bit of a story how I wound up getting this job. I've actually been
frequenting this bar for several years and so everyone there already knows me.
I walked in one day after running around like a madman trying to find a job
and sat down for a beer. The bartender saw that I had my resume on me and
talked the manager into giving me an interview right on the spot. That was
nice of him, seeing as I didn't even ask him to do that and a lot of
bartenders won't go through the trouble.
